Pay attention to the product description, which contains these sentences:

"Double iron castings are permanently adhered to durable rubber rims."

"Not intended for heavy lifting. INSTRUCTIONAL USE ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE DROPPED TO THE FLOOR AFTER A LIFT. Not warranted against breakage."

In other words, these are NOT solid rubber bumper plates. It is awesome that the company is honest with it's customers about this, but it's a little like selling a compact car with a warning that says "Product actually as big as a Semi. Not intended for city driving."

True bumper plates can be had for less than the price of these too. So I'm not sure what the product strategy is.
